ACT 23:6 is funny. Paul knows this trial is a mockery and he feels no obligation to honor it. (Though he was obviously not trying to be disrespectful of the individuals: ACT 23:5.) Rather than defend himself on the merits of the criticism, he saw a political weakness and exploited it: ACT 23:7. Later he will write 2CO 10:3-5.
